The
meeting began at 7:01 PM.
Last
month’s minutes approved without change.
Reports:
Swimmer’s
Representative:
Caroline is working on the slide show for the awards
banquet. Is planning the next bowling
party for sometime in April.
Office
Manager
– nothing to report.
Treasurer
–
Jeannie billed
out for 125 swimmers; Greg has 139. We
squeaked by on the budget. We’re about
$7,000 short at this time. Need strong
showing at the CAT-a-thon. Went over the financial report from the meet.
Press
Liaison:
No report.
Coaches:
Rick
- CAT
got the silver club
ranking. This allows CAT to apply for a
$2500 grant. Need to list what the money
would be used for – new starting blocks and/or new tarps at the top of
the
list. Other groups may chip be
interested in helping to pay for those items: the city, CHS, CV, OSU.
CAT
is sponsoring both Brittney
Iverson and Logan Storie for the Olympic trials, June 29 – July 7. Brittney made one cut; Logan made 3.
Rick will be there with them; Greg will do the Sun Country meet
in Bend
during that
time.
Would
like to attend the Santa Clara
Invite entering the swimmers with spring junior cuts.
April
8th will be visiting Hoover school to talk to
the 4th and 5th graders about CAT.
Any promo ideas are welcome. Posters,
keychains were suggested.
Timberhill
Athletic Club will be
giving CAT practice lanes 9:00 – 10:00 M-F for a satellite program
during the
summer. Similar to summer league –
cost= $250. Greg will be the coach, coordinating with Kelly G.
Timberhill will take part of the proceeds,
CAT the other: 20/80 or 30/70 split.
Leave
on Monday morning for
Juniors. Prelim/finals for the
relays. Top 16 make it to finals.
Greg
– Open
House is scheduled for April 28th. This
will be advertised in the Parks and Rec
catalog and will put an ad in the paper prior to this date.
There
were some changes in the long course schedule: Mike Morris
will be June 20 – 22, Eugene City
meet may be changing, not sure about that one yet.
Trophy League meets will be set during spring
break.
Season
finale was good. All
kids got into at least one final swim.
Masters
Representative – Jackie said that the
noon swimmers were swimming outside now –they’re happy about that. Noted that evening swimmers were working on
starts, getting ready for the meet in April.
Pool
Director
– no
report
Meet
Director
– Kristin
thanked everyone who worked at the last meet. Need
new bells – the ones we have are falling
apart.
Working
with coaches to get the long course meets finalized.
Have bid for 3 meets.
Fundraising
– Tom
talked
about the dine-out at El Sol de Mexico (9th street location)
on March
18th. Laura will put out a
reminder and possibly a flyer in the boxes the day before.
Encourage the kids to wear CAT t-shirts.
Housekeeping
Items –
no housekeeping items
Open
Discussion – we
need a CAT
prowl person. Kristin had someone in
mind and will check on that.
Old
Business –
Team
recognition. CAT
reached silver status.
New
Business –
Bill
suggested that we have some kind of recognition for the
swimmers who achieve a certain standard, possibly posters of the kids
that make
it to the Olympic trials. More
discussion regarding this later.
The
meeting adjourned at 8:12 PM.
